Social Dynamics: A Sociological Approach to BDSM with Julie Fennell

Beyond the bedroom, the social dynamics of BDSM.

Join us on February 8th at 9pm EST for a discussion with Julie Fennel aka SlutPhD!!

Julie Fennell (IPCookieMonster on Fetlife, slut.phd on Instagram) has a Ph.D. in Sociology from Brown University and has studied the BDSM subculture for many years. Her 2022 book, Please Scream Quietly: A Story of Kink (Littleman & Rowfield), is a collective autobiography of the American pansexual BDSM scene from 2012-2017. Her upcoming book, with Remy Green, Violated: Consent and Sexual Assault in the 21st Century, uses insights from Sociology and the Law to analyze the gendered and legal troubles associated with sexual consent and violation.

In addition to her sociological career, Julie also teaches rope bondage on both sides, in addition to performing. She is also committed to teaching and encouraging feminine dominants and masculine submissives, and remains heavily involved in the kink scene in the U.S. and abroad.
